Vestibular & Balance

The vestibular system includes portions of the inner ear and their connections to the brain. The vestibular system helps control balance and eye movements. Dysfunction in the vestibular system can result in a variety of symptoms including dizziness, imbalance, vertigo, brain fog, and nausea. Some common conditions include:

  • BPPV (Epley Maneuver)
  • General Age-Related Imbalance
  • Concussion
  • General Dizziness
  • Migraine-Associated Vertigo
  • Vestibular Neuritis and Labyrinthitis
  • Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD)
  • Motion Sickness

Vestibular and balance disorders are treated by first determining the underlying cause. From there your therapist will develop a course of interventions designed to assist in reducing your symptoms and improving your balance in order to help get you back to your life.
